The consequence was that the soul mates were cast far away from each other. Some versions of the stories have the soul mates blinded or speaking another language. The result was that they were alone. The purpose of this mean deed was to have the soul mates turn their attention to the gods. Instead, they wandered the Earth looking for their other half (This is where the expression better half comes from.) A few even after being blinded found their soul mate because their heart recognized them.
Statisticians will tell us there are many people we have common interests with and could form a reasonable union. There’s a world of difference between having a comfortable companion as opposed to one you’d risk your life to save. The old axiom about never settling for someone you can live with, but wait for the one you can't live without...that's your soul mate.
Does everyone find their soul mate? Obviously not, because if they did it would be a much happier world.
What’s your soul mate story? It could be someone else’s story too. Two winners get a free copy of The Soul Mate Search. I’d love to hear your story.
(I’m heading out to Lori Foster this week, so I may not be able to announce the winner until the 10th.)
