I always find the tell us about yourself question the hardest to answer, well that along with the tell us about your book question. On both counts I know both so well that for some reason I can’t put what they are about into words.
Ok so for me, I work full time as a secretary to a managing director by day, then in the few spare hours between leaving work and going to bed I somehow find the time to look after my family (Holly-May 13, Danny 16 and my husband Darren), visit and look after my two horses (Monarch a Scottish Highland 25 and my little rescue the very naughty Ferris 6), write, read and review other indie authors books. Oh and I have an obsession with Cats. That pretty much sums me up.
What was your first book?
The first book I ever wrote, I started when I was seven years old and developed it over a number of years. It’s complete now but on paper, I still need to transfer it onto my laptop.
As I was in the process of transferring this story (as an Adult now) it started to get confused with ‘Loved and Lost’ so I shelved the children’s book and started to write my first published book.
What is your favorite genre to read? To write?
I read anything, and everything. Currently I’m pulled towards indie authors as I find that most of them are gems waiting to be discovered.
My preferred writing choice also varies, I have ‘Twisted Love’ book two of my ‘Loved and Lost’ Romance series close to completion. I have a spoof murder mystery and a children’s adventure story on the go. Variety is the spice of life
What makes a protagonist interesting?
They simply need to have depth. The reader needs to feel that they can identify with the characters. Otherwise they will have no interest in the story.
What is the best thing about being a writer?
The best thing about being a writer is simply to have people read and enjoy your work.
What is the worst thing?
The worst thing is thinking that your manuscript is ready to publish, but your beta readers tell you otherwise.
Pantser or plotter?
I’m certainly a ‘Pantser’ I just sit and write what my characters tell me. I don’t know how the plot will develop from one day to the next.
What do you see the direction of your future writing taking? What can we expect next? Give us a little taste.
My next focus is to get ‘Twisted Love’ out there, to complete the ‘Loved and Lost’ series. I feel it’s now very close to something that I’m happy to publish.
Just for fun
Cat or dog person?
I’m Cats all the way. I have three. Tom he’s 15 and a real grumpy old man, Lucas he’s almost 2 and a stroppy teenager (in his cats years) and Cleo, the baby, she was a feral that I rescued.
Favorite food
Mmmm Chocolate.
Favorite book?
Tim and the Hidden people by Sheila K McCullagh
Favorite movie?
Sooo many but I’m currently going with ‘Stardust’
Favorite vacation destination (you just have to want to go there)
Mongolia – I really want to go on a horse riding holiday there.
